Leadership of the HEART Training
the pursuit of authentic leadership

“The first and paramount responsibility of anyone who purports to lead or manage is to manage self: one’s own integrity, character, ethics, knowledge, wisdom, temperament, words, and acts. It is a complex, unending, incredibly difficult, oft shunned task.”   Dee Hock – Author, CEO emeritus, Visa National and International

Leadership, first and foremost, begins on the inside and works out - it is about being a person that others can take seriously. Influence is not primarily about the words we speak - it is about living a life worthfollowing. The first responsibility of every leader is to lead him or herself well.

Our HEART is that place inside us that defines who we are, what we believe, how we decide and which direction we take others. It is where wisdom is birthed and the ability to enjoy life begins. Our heart is where our deepest passions reside and most meaningful dreams originate. Our worship of God flows from the heart and it is where we carry the people we love. Our best performance tends to flow from the heart. Too many leaders only pay lip service to growing their hearts, developing character and becoming more worthy leaders. And as a result, an erosion of leadership impact occurs.

The Leadership of the HEART training will strengthen the hearts of leaders. When this happens everyone wins. In this training the specific characteristics of authentic leadership are considered and each attendee will be aided in building a leadership style that begins on the inside of his or her life and works outward to the people they lead.

“A leader is a person who must take special responsibility for what’s going on inside him or herself, inside his or her consciousness, lest the act of leadership create more harm than good.”  Parker J. Palmer - Author and Educator
